I love food. It’s easy to see that if you look at my midsection. But what’s especially great about food is the great times that centralize around a meal. Whenever we make plans to see friends, family, or to meet new people, they’re made with the intention of breaking bread with them. Nothing brings people together better than sharing a meal. Even though I just like to eat, the main reason I love food is the good times and stronger bonds of friendship that are created because of it.
Sunday evening, Sandy and I headed down to Irvine to our good friends Charlene and Chris’ house for dinner. A few weeks back (at Brian & Helen’s place) Charlene invited us all over for dinner so that she could make us an authentic home cooked meal of traditional Taiwanese beef noodles. We love hanging out with them because, not only are they really cool people, but we get to play with their adorable dog Maddie (a beautiful Golden Retriever.) Brian & Helen showed up soon after we did and we all got our “eats on” shortly after.
(Brian and I shot a wedding on Saturday…I’l post pics and a full report on that day soon…but one quick hint: it was AWESOME.)
Here’s a quick pic i got off with my iPhone before I killed it:

I really can’t say more about how delicious Charlene’s noodles were. It’s seriously authentic…she made the broth from scratch which took all day long. I greedily contributed to the demise of any efforts to losing inches off my waist by eating two bowls. But at least I get to smile as I write this thinking about how good they are.
By the way, not only is Charlene great chef, but she is also an awesome wedding planner. She’s a great person with a really big heart and takes pride in her work. Check her out at Red Velvet Occasions.
