Linda + James Engagement

April 14, 2009

This past Saturday, I had the pleasure of meeting up with Linda and James in Pasadena where we shot their engagement photos together with their dog, Coco. Linda and James have been dating for five years and James recently popped the question to his beautiful girlfriend fiancée.  They’re a really fun couple and I had a great time hanging out with them.  I can’t wait til their wedding in June.  Congratulations guys!

I recently headed out to Orange County to photograph Teresa and Don’s wedding. I had such a great time! Teresa and Don were such a great couple! The Tustin Ranch Golf Club is a beautiful place to have your wedding and reception. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and their lush, green golf courses really let us capture some wonderful images! Special thanks to Joanne, Laura, and Priscilla for all their help, and to Miguel Pola for an awesome day!

Here here are some highlights from the day:

Yes, the rain started JUST as the ceremony (which was outdoors, by the way) was about to start. The amazing staff scrambled to bring out the umbrellas and set everything up. Luckily, everyone was still all smiles!

This past weekend I headed to Fullerton, CA to shoot a wedding with Brian Khang. It was an outdoor ceremony at The Plaza in the Old Town district of Fullerton, and the reception was held at Villa Del Sol which is literally across the street.

The food by Brownstone Catering was as fantastic as was the music provided by DJ Doug.

An added note, Villa Del Sol is also known as California Hotel, which is the same place that The Eagles sang their famous song about.

Christina and Jeff’s wedding was a blast, even though it pretty warm. I hardly noticed the heat because I had so much fun. They’re a fantastic couple and their son, Logan is simply adorable. Everytime he caught me pointing my camera at him, he would start singing, “cheeeese!!” and dance right on the spot. Here are some of my favorites from the day:

AMA Sunday!

April 28, 2008

This weekend, Sandy, Cann, and I met up with some friends at the California Speedway in Fontana, CA to watch the AMA Superbike races! We got there kind of late after having lunch at The Hat (so good, yet so bad for you) because I didn’t see our turn and missed the track by about 4 miles. When we got there the first race of the day had already started, but we hauled it over to the track (parking about a mile away) in time to catch the tail end of it where Ben Spies overtook Mat Mladin on the last lap and WON (by a margin of 0.011 seconds!) to sweep the weekend (he won on Saturday’s race, too.) After that excitement we hung out to watch next race and chatted while trying to snap pictures. I don’t know how sports shooters do it…most of my attempts were out of focus (or focused on the wrong thing) or had the subject completely NOT in frame. I think I’ll stick to slower-moving subjects, haha.

Some of you may know that I have a Honda motorcycle sitting in my garage that I went down on a few years ago at Willow Springs racetrack and have yet to fix. I guess I’m still bitter about that crash since it was on lap 2 of the trackday and it was such a stupid mistake. But going to watch the races, hearing the bikes fly by at high rpms, and smelling the gas fumes brought back a kind of nostalgic yearning to get my bike fixed and back onto the open road.

However, I’m a bit older now with a different set of priorities. Also, I’ve been pining for a new camera…hopefully whatever replaces the 5D with motivate me enough to fix and sell the bike ending my riding days…for now.

Anyhow, enjoy the pictures!
