Meet Zoey!

April 27, 2009

Last Sunday, Sandy and I brought home our newest family member: Zoey. She’s a 9-week old Golden Retriever puppy that we found after much searching and answering of ads in the newspaper. We’ve been wanting a dog for a while now but have been hesitant about getting one because of the commitment level required. I’ve had pet dogs growing up but they were never quite a part of the family due to my parent’s strict rule of no dogs in the house. I knew that if we were going to adopt one into our home, I wanted it to be a part of our young family instead of just its sentinel. After meeting Zoey, Sandy and I knew right away that we couldn’t leave without her.

She’s been a delight to have in the house and is amazingly smart. She’s not quite housebroken yet, but she knows where to go, to sit on command, as well as to wait patiently while her food is being prepared. I hope all of you blog stalkers/readers love dogs, because I’m completely sprung over her and will be posting her photos now and then.

Photos from NYC

April 6, 2009

Hello all, we just got back from NYC a little while ago. We went for Sandy’s birthday last Thursday. It was a whirlwind trip but we had such a blast! Spending most of our time in Manhattan, we got to eat lots of good food (iPhone Yelp was invaluable for finding good places to eat) and tried to see as much as possible in 2.5 days. Before I pass out I wanted to share some photos. Kindly enjoy.

Check out the cool ambiance on Virgin America’s planes!

Our hotel was on 6th Ave (Ave of the Americas) and we just happened to get a chance to see the Tartan Day Parade.

Brooklyn Bridge. (It was very windy and we froze our asses off.)

Sandy loves Hello Kitty and lost her mind when we came across this Hello Kitty Garden.

Sandy’s birthday is April 2nd (tomorrow) and I, being the super-romantic-but-slightly-rotund-in-the-midsection awesome guy that I am, hooked up a little weekend getaway.  I love New York City and I gotta tell you, I’m really excited to go (camera in hand) and see what there is to see.  I’ve only visited once before, and Sandy hasn’t been there in a while too.  There’s so many places I want to check out, including that photographer’s mecca called the B&H Photo SuperStore. We’ll be back Sunday, hopefully with some, “souvenirs” (heh heh.) Until then, have an excellent weekend!

Lazy Sunday

March 30, 2009

Sandy is my best friend. It’s pretty fun to hang out with her and just kick it, regardless of what we do…even if it’s nothing. Which is exactly what we did on Sunday.

(rofl)

Hey, check out what showed up today! I had meant to give Sandy a triple whammy of flowers, candy, and cards for Valentine’s Day, but the mailman had other plans. Apparently our neighbor had received the package by mistake, and dropped it off on our doorstep. Oh well, better late than never! I hope everyone had a fantastic Valentine’s Day!

Special thanks to Pinko Cookies for being so awesome and following up to see if I had received the package.
