Majell and Steve have been married for six years, and they are still madly in love. For their 6th anniversary they decided to do a portrait session, so last week we got together bright and early to start in Beverly Hills and end the session at the awesome Hotel Viceroy in Santa Monica. I love how they decided to not hold anything back and go all out with their choice of attire and location. I had a great time shooting this chic and trendy couple.

Jason Lee: Awesome job Mieng, such a stylish couple, and you captured them perfectly.

Majell del Castillo: OMG! Mieng! WE LOVE THE PHOTOS! (clap-clap) You've done such an awesome job!!! You're THE BEST photographer in SoCal! Thanks so much!!!

The Choe Family - Slideshow

February 25, 2010

Hi!  First off, I hope everyone had a fantastic Christmas, New Year’s, Lunar New Year, and Valentine’s Day.  My sincerest apologies for the lack of posts on my blog!  I am still alive - albeit very busy with work and personal life.  I will be catching everyone up on my sessions and life soon!  Thank you for your continued support! - Mieng

Last fall I met Barbara, Eugene, and their daughter Riley at a BBQ gathering in their beautiful Irvine neighborhood.  They are were a family of three who have never had any professional photos done of them and when they found out I was a photographer, we quickly struck up a conversation and exchanged contact info.  I had the distinct honor of photographing the Choe’s at a special time in their lives.  Barbara was 8 months pregnant with their second child, and they wanted a combination of family, maternity, and infant portraits…we joked about the need to “catch up” with photos since this was their first session.  A few weeks later we met for the family & maternity session, which was just in time for Christmas, and recently I got a chance to meet their newest family member, Jonathan, for his own special portrait shoot.  Here’s a selection of my favorite images from the two sessions.  Please click the image for a slideshow!

Conrad Lim // Los Angeles Wedding Photographer: very cute pics Mieng!loved the one with the lil' girl's head on the dogs head..awesome job

Jason Lee: Love this Mieng. You really capture a sense of 'family' with these sessions. The beach shots are my favorites.

I flew up to San Francisco this past weekend to photograph my last wedding of the year with Jason Lee. I had so much fun capturing this genuinely down to earth couple. It was totally awesome! The rain and cold kept us indoors for most of the day. It didn’t matter though because cloudy as it was outside, it was a warm, joyous, and fun-filled inside. Mai and Ricky, thank you for letting me be a part of your special day.

Kristen: Oooh, I LOVE that bouquet! And I love her red dress too.

Jason: Great set Mieng!

The Ravitz Family - Slideshow

November 18, 2009

I recently drove out to Los Angeles to photograph a really great family. Lauren and David have a fourteen month old son named Nathan who is not only adorable, but extremely curious about everything! We had a fun time trying to get him to sit still and not walk off to go look at something. It was a bit tricky but everything worked out when Grandma & Grandpa stopped by…it must be a universal truth that all kids love their grandparents because Nathan was all smiles the rest of the time :) Thanks for a wonderful day!

Please check out the slideshow and don’t forget to come back and leave me love in the comments box!

Jason Lee: Love these images Mieng!

Kristen: Oooh, 12-18 month olds are tough to photograph! I just did a shoot for a family with 5 kids, and the youngest was about 14 months old. She kept running away from me! lol My fave of this set is the one of the fam walking, holding hands.

Mieng: Thanks Jason & Kristen!

gina Christenson: how super cute!

Ting and Loc are very much in love. They’re very cute together, as I found out last week on their wedding day at Pacific Palms Resort. I saw how much they cared for each other by the subtle yet endearing way they steal glances at each other, grab for the other’s hand, and smile with their eyes at each other. I wish them all the best in their new marriage. Congratulations guys!
